We price by the job, not the hour. Here's what affects the cost.
The biggest driver of cost is how much stuff you have. A washer, dryer, and a few boxes from a storage unit is a small load. A full garage cleanout or estate is a much bigger job. We use a truck for smaller loads and a trailer for larger ones — you pay for the space your junk takes up.
Landfills charge by weight, and that cost passes through. Concrete is extremely heavy and can't be loaded on top of other materials due to weight limits. Clean concrete is accepted — concrete with rebar costs more at the landfill. Even seemingly light items can surprise you — a trailer full of packed newspapers can weigh as much as several redwood trees.
Certain items carry extra disposal fees. Mattresses and box springs typically have a surcharge (around $25 each) because landfills charge separately for them. Large sectional couches, sleeper sofas, and refrigerators also have added fees due to weight or special handling requirements like refrigerant recovery.
Not all junk is created equal. Standard household junk — furniture, boxes, appliances — goes to the landfill or transfer station at standard rates. Heavy debris like concrete, rock, and dirt is priced separately. Items we can recycle or donate (electronics, usable furniture, clothing) may not add to your cost since they don't go to the landfill.
Your quote covers everything: mileage to and from your location, all labor and loading, and disposal fees at the dump or transfer station. There are no hourly charges, no fuel surcharges, and no surprise fees. We give you a firm price before we touch anything.
